It has been quite awhile since the last post, since between our "real" jobs and all of the baking we have done, its been fun and busy! We have had several cake pops and cupcake orders, as well as our first wedding order! Remember, cake pops are a fun and sassy way to have a dessert that people will talk about for quite awhile.
Here is a sample of a colorful summer cake pop basket created for a party:
Fondant was used for a different take on decorating for this basket.
You can join us in supporting local Arvada businesses tomorrow, July 16th, at the Trinity Presbyterian Church of 77th and Wads for a neighborhood event. There will be a car show from 10am-2pm and family fun all day, concluding with a concert by Hazel Miller at 6pm. We will be there with samples and a cakewalk starting at 10am. Hope to see you there!

A Celebration of Mom's and Teachers: with Chocolate!
These were made for Mother's Day and again for Teacher Appreciation and were a hit!
It is a chocolate cake with chocolate-chip cheesecake. It is then topped with a chocolate buttercream frosting.
The cupcake is moist and the cheesecake is creamy, just like you expect each separate dessert to be. The buttercream frosting on top adds a decadent touch. Top with a fruit as well to add some tart sweetness. These were topped with strawberries, but raspberries work nicely as well.
For added fun, dark chocolate mint cake balls and chocolate-peanut butter cake balls were also an option at this Mother's Day celebration. Did you celebrate Mother's Day or Teacher Appreciation with a dessert? What kind?

Cupcakes!
Cupcakes are a very hot trend these days for sure. So, we joined the craze:
It was fun to make cupcakes for a 3-year-old’s birthday party! The birthday girl’s request: “blue and purple cupcakes with sparklies”. It was fun to play with the colors and the result was a happy 3-year-old at her party!
The cupcakes themselves were a white cake and a chocolate cake (the chocolate has buttermilk in it which makes it more smooth as well as more dense). Both with cream cheese frosting and then decorated with sparkles or pearls depending on the motif. This 3-year-old is not all that into princesses (and neither are mom and dad for that matter!) so it was nice to keep it simple but add a few girlie flairs in to entertain some of the guests who may have more interest in the princess-life.
It was great to see this little girl’s face light up when she saw the cupcakes- she loved the purple especially! Mom said they were a hit as well.
Can we help fulfill a cupcake need in your life?

Bride and Groom Cake Pops
We had a busy week and weekend with a lot of events! Here we would like to share our Bride and Groom Cake Pops. A friend called after the first blog post saying a bridal shower she was in charge of obtaining desserts for had a much larger guest list than originally planned. The bakery she had placed her order for petite desserts said they were unable to add to her original order, so she took a chance on us being able to come up with a plan to match the already ordered desserts and execute it in about 10 days. We did it!
We are pleased with the results- talk about a great event, especially since the colors of the bridal shower were black and white as well. There were 24 bride and groom cake pops, as well as an additional one dozen cake balls to match the motif.
We understand that the bride was ecstatic and her guests well pleased with these vanilla cake, vanilla white frosting and white chocolate and dark chocolate mint covered cake pops and cake balls. Such a fun and unique dessert for a bridal shower or even a wedding reception!
Thanks for a fun project, Lori!
